I have never attempted squeeler up. Maybe fall crawl. Main Jambo she kept cutting out, ignition coil wasn't firing. Up squeeler was one thing I was hoping to attempt that weekend.

Ignition coils: Is there a big difference between stock and aftermarket stuff. Is it worth the extra money? Or should I just stick to OEM. strictly a trailer rig.

Going with a "race coil" would I need to upgrade the distributor also?

Up squealer is not for the faint of heart or vehicles that arent locked F&R, the two slabs were not super hard in the dry summer heat. there is one spot where the trail goes slightly to the right then back left around a tree that can hang you up. the slope of the trail wants to put you into the tree, but the rocks infront of the tree say otherwise... interesting spot for sure. just keep in mind it is a long straight shot down to the bottom if something goes wrong.

no clue about ignition coils...

There is not much difference for a stock engine set up.
If you were running a big cam and big injectors with a Hotter spark plug yes go with the Race coil but for stock you will not see any difference.

thanks for the insight on the coil. Took nephew for a little joy ride on my property. Nothing much, small steep hill climb and run over some trees. Hear a funny sound and look up under to find a completely shattered Tcase.

Pretty sure when I hit the logs my wheels were pushed backward and toasted the transfer cased. Arms were not adjusted properly yet. Trashed my new heavy duty chain but did not harm the SYE.

Seperated the 01 XJ transfer case, installed SYE from the 94 case to the 01 case. Input shaft of 01 slightly longer than 94. Looked to be plenty of room for the extra length so slid it up into place. Tried using transmission mount I had just bought for the 01. Does not allow the crossmember to bolt back up. Rain got the best of me and she sits with no crossmember but transfer case bolted in. Broke one stud on passenger side for crossmember so need to dig that out also. Hopefully get back on it tonight. Trying to have her ready for Fall Crawl at Gore.

Fall Crawl at Gore, October 17 and 18. Should be mild weather and low attendance. Plenty of fall color should be going on too. Even if Little Jeep is not ready I am going. Camp 10 usually. RCPFA might move closer to the field since it's their event.

glad you got it back together (sorta)...

still going to bet the centering ball of the driveshaft seized up. there just isnt anywhere for the front axle to go backwards without bending a control arm or mount. even if it moved backwards the splines of the driveshaft should have enough slip to prevent this type of thing.

either way, hope fall crawl goes well.

I believe you are right. Adjusted my control arms, was in way to much of hurry last time, adjusted my trackbar, axle is now centered proper like. Needed to lengthen the drive shaft. Took it to Northern Virginia Supply in Springfield Va.. Had to replace the centering ball too. Don't think my pinion angle was even near close to correct.

Live and learn a little impatience just cost me a lot of time and some money.

Replaced plugs, wires, rotor, cap, ignition coil. Changed oil after treatment. Left her idling in the driveway for a couple of hours while I cut the side yard. She never stalled so hopefully that issue is done. Coil did not look good.

Adjusted track bar and control arms. Picked up my drive shaft yesterday. Will do final adjustments on control arm and pinion angle tonight. Then hopefully pack everything up on Thursday and pull out Friday morning for Gore.

By the way what genious designed the bracket for the ignition coil? Jeez 2 hours to remove 2 bolts, 2 wires and reattach said bolts and wires. Pain in my ass!

Anyway, my rockers I have replaced using scrap metal that I pick up from jobs at my buildings. I am a Chief Engineer. I used uchannel that originally was used to create a track for a suspended X ray machine to roll around on. The track is 2 pieces of 1 1/2" x3" uchannel butted together and spot welded which created a 6" wide member. I added 1 1/4" flat to outside to box it in over the weekend (only passenger side so far) I like the way it came out. Need some more support underneath and will eventually tie it all the way to the frame. I was going to use tube on the outside rail but $20 for the flat was cheaper way out. I see improvement in my welding every project but still a lot of grinding going on. One day I will be able to just leave the beads raw.
