Default New Rig

So the T100 has been sold! My original plan for it was to one ton swap the truck so that I could hit some decent trails with it and also be reliable enough to drive back and forth from the trail to home. The other side of this is that I wanted to build out the back of it, putting in a sleeping platform and storage solution so that I could use it for camping and an all purpose rig if you will. Well my fiance and I just purchased a home and have a wedding coming up. So time has increased in value ten fold and the thought of a one ton build up started to dwindle.

Then one day a guy I know from a FB group posted an ad for a 94 Chevy Blazer that has been SAS'd and one ton swapped and boom, here we are. The plan is exactly what I had for the T100. I want to go through the engine and do a tune up for reliability. The inside of the truck will get a sleeping platform/storage solution for tools/gear/etc. I would like to build it in a way that I can still flip the rear seat up and down if I have passengers. The rear bumper will either be replaced or modified for a dual swing out tire carrier that will hold full size military 37 tire(need to find one), Jerry can, Hi/lift and Treds. I also pulled the XRC 9500 winch from the T100 and in-dash(single din) CB with 4ft firestik to mount in the truck as well. Of course, all of this work will be done after a few projects for the home I promised to complete first

Specs are as follows:
94 K1500 Blazer
TBI 350
4l60
NP241 JB SYE with 1350 Flange
Ford Dana 60 5.13 Gears, Lockright, Springless Highsteer arms, Ruffstuff dif cover
14 Bolt rear Shaved, 5.13 Gears, detroit locker, disc brake conversion, Ruffstuff Pinion guard and dif cover
ORD SAS Kit with new 52" springs
DIY4x Rear shackle flip with stock 54" springs and a zero rate
New 1350 rear CV shaft
New 1330 front CV shaft
Hydro Assist with rebuilt and tapped PSC box, PSC high flow pump, PSC cylinder and custom lines
Swapped in a disc/disc master cylinder from an 02 Tahoe and ssbc adjustable prop valve and new brake lines front to back
Custom steel bumpers front and rear
DOM Rocker protection
37x12.50 MTRs on black D Window rims

This pic is pulled from the Ad when it was sitting on 40's.

Nice find. I barely remember when mine looked that straight.

A lot of guys like the older solid axle Blazers/Jimmys as a camping/"expo" for mid west and mountain area/ bug out vehicle to your bunker rig. In fact, I was actually looking for one to throw my chevy front D60 and rear 70 in. I think it will work well for what I want it to do.

It has a little bit of trail rash on the passenger side, but otherwise its not too bad. I am actually glad you posted up. I know you trailer yours now, but do you ever still drive it on the street? do you run a front sway bar, if so what? Do you happen to know of a junkyard sway bar people can modify pretty easy or do they normally go the anti-rock route?

Current plan is to make it out to the Budds Creek Expo for at least one of the days. Still need to find a spare 37 and do a few things before I head out on a trip, but I hope to make a few events this summer.

I don't run a sway bar. I do still have the overloads on the front leafs, though. I'm also running the 52s up front. Roll didn't seem bad but I wasn't driving it like a race car. I thought about running it and had it bolted in before moving the steering box forward. I believe I still have the stock bar if you want it.

I've also heard of people using Toyota torsion bars for home made ones.

There is an F150 Rear sway bar on the rear and it drives ok. but you can really feel it in the front. And sure I will take it. I have seen where a couple people have flipped the stock bar and it works. I think if I can make the stock bar work with a quick disconnect linkage of some sort I will be in business. I have also heard of people using yota torsion bars and welding arms to the sleeve that mounts to the bar. I have just never seen any that look decent is all (usually a hack job).

Are you going to the meeting this Saturday?

I don't plan on being at the meeting right now. I probably won't have time to find it until Sunday.
