New crawler project
So Junkyard and I have a few pieces for a new project. We acquired a military Chevrolet chassis with heavy duty axles. We also acquired a half ton Chevrolet that has some rust. The frame and axles are good. We also acquired 2 fairly rust free 2door cabs. We would like to locate a decent square body 4 door cab to put on the Military chassis or to make one of the 2door cabs into a 4 door with out looking completely Hillbilly.

Re: New crawler project
Sounds like a fun project but this is the image that keeps coming to my head.

Re: New crawler project
I agree, mount two cabs back to back, leaving the rear passengers facing back...

Re: New crawler project
4 doors, 2 hoods, dry storage under one,
Would be different and cool.
Leave the steering wheel in both sides but hook the rear one up to a light on the back.

Re: New crawler project
If we put them back to back there definitely wouldn't be anything like it out there that's for sure.

Re: New crawler project
I like the back to back look better. Here is one with them both facing forward filling the gap with filler metal. We are going to get started Saturday if anyone wants to play with some old Chevys.

Re: New crawler project
two fronts = two engines = two front axles
Rear steer the hard way, two drivers.

Re: New crawler project
Junkyard found a 4 door cab. It is going to be a 4 door on a 2 door frame so the rear wheels will be right behind the cab. I have seen a few done this way. I'll post progress pics as we get er done.
