Default Budds Creek After action report

For those of you who missed out on the Inagural Event it sucks to be you!

Friday started for some folks pretty early in the day. setting up the stage, banners, signs galore, moving trash cans, etc. The stock car races Friday night meant the obstacle course couldnt be finalized until 2:30am. Several people camped out Friday night and were ready to roll first thing Saturday morning.

Saturday morning registrants started rolling in and by 9AM we had a good number of vehicles in the show field. After the quick drivers meeting vehicles started rolling out to the obstacles. Motocross track had a line 10 deep at times. Obstacle course had a good rush and the woods trails quickly became soupy. show and shine ballots were lost in the mud apparently.

Everyone I encountered were enjoying themselves and saying what a fun time they were having. Lots of new drivers were using this event as their chance to learn the capability of their vehicles. 99"% of people were following the rules and playing nice; then there is the 1%......

Saturday afternoon (4ish) a quick rain storm rolled through and cleared out the majority of people not camping. Huge storm rolled in Saturday night and wiped out quite a few canopies and trees.

Sunday morning brought with it the sound of chainsaws and soggy butts. We cleared two large trees from the property that were blocking the green trail. The motocross track was impassable in its standard configuration, so we ran it backwards and bypassed a few portions out of safety concerns. The obstacle course was actually made better by the rain. water filled the two big holes and made everything a bit more challenging. John had his hands full with recoveries. The woods trails became a mud bog and revoveries were plentiful.

Overall the event was a success. without having exact numbers to go by, I would say we had 130 (+/-10) registered vehicles. For our first year is pretty awesome.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and either volunteered a little or ALOT of time. would like to see more HRC faces out next year.

will have pictures and video at a later date.

With some lessons learned, next year is sure to be even better.

I'd like to say thank you to all of the guys that put countless hours in behind the scene leading up to the event. For the first year of running the event, it was an absolute success and think it's only going to continue to grow from here. I can't think of any participant that I ran into that wasn't having fun or complementing the event. Again, a great weekend and proud to be part of the HRC family.
