Default Its Not a KJ but it will have to do.

I get to drive a Hummer. . . A real hummer not that POS street Hummer but a real military issue hummer. I will be sure to get some pics. Any one have any experience with these beast? Any tips or tricks would greatly help. After all it is the army running the training.

I have. Almost indestructable. Outstanding winch 15K, sucks on the power not enough. You have to really try to turn one over or roll it. And last but best they will ram cars out of the road or at least Somali junk cars...

Actually that is one of the training things they flip one with us in it full gear and stuff and we have to get our team out, and get it back upright. . . So when the other guys start pushing and pulling i will be strapping the winch and tow strap and get upright lol. . . Work smarter not harder.

Not too bad. Hardest thing getting used to em for me was the width. And of course the sluggish diesel engine. I've heard the newer ones had more pep. It always surprised me how cramped they are inside for the exterior size.

We used one to tow the show car I built a couple years back all over the place. That got some looks The 28ft trailer and car made it even more of a dog. I would have loved to try it off road though. This one actually had a body kit on it. It was ugly as damnit imo..

The 6.5L diesel is a dog at best. Some of the TD we had would catch second on a turn though. When you get the temp up the fan will cut on. It will scare the sh_t outa ya. Loud as hell. After 15 miles you'll wish you were in your jeep. Earplugs! Oh, and the brakes are really touchy as well. The fuel gauge is usually close to a quarter tank off. The power steering sucks.Good luck and have fun! I only hate them because I have 12k miles seat time. Ours always have problems. Aberdeen PG is our parts/service guys and we keep them busy!

Turns out they won't let me drive the Hummer LOL, "for good reason". HA some of the guys in the platoon seen some of the my offroading pics and were like umm we wouldn't want to ride with me driving, gee wonder why. i guess they just don't understand the jeep thing. I was talking to some of the guys that did get their hummer license and went through the class and the army is def modest in announcing the limits of the vehicle. like 25 degrees off camber and it would tip, it can only water ford 30" of water without a snorkel, 60" with a snorkel. they couldn't tell me what gear ratios, axles or anything technical other than its a turbo diesel. So i guess i will settle with riding and waiting for someone to break something, get it stuck, or flip it, and show them how to unstuck a hummer after they sit around a try and figure it out. We should be getting them sometime this week i hope and will be sure to get some pics.

Its prob a good thing they won't let me drive cause i would def want to push that vehicle to its limits LOL.
