Default Offroading in Bahrain

So I came across this while looking at tickets for the March F-1 Race in Bahrain, they have a full offroad course and they provide vehicles the only problem their vehicles are Hummers. . . It cost 87 BD (desert $) which is around $230 (actual $) I think if they had a real offroad vehicle like a Jeep heck maybe even a Rover I would consider.

thing is it's desert offroading. means no rocks, no trees. flat ground and sand hills. meaning those POS probably look good on it. lol

Try driving one of the Caterham 7s, those thing are a hoot to drive. With the right powerplant it's just a point and shoot type of car.

The Dakar is coming on in a few weeks, you need to watch the coverage. It will change your perception of desert racing.

These things look like they are stock, I have seen stock hummers on the trail and out in the desert in cali 90% of the time it didn't end nicely. I was looking at those caterhams that does look fun but not for over $400 for the day lol.

Robby Gordon has two Hummers entered in the Dakar. They are far from stock. He started his own Dakar team after he had to play second fiddle to a female driver on the VW team.

Damn, a friend of mine were talking about going to the GP out there, but I don't think either of us could afford it lol.

Would love to drive the Caterhams. I think the closest thing I've ever been in that would relate are the karts at Summit Point.

(BTW, if you guys like go-karting like at the beach, try out Summit Point Karts. They have a nice big track with a long straight and the karts get up over 50mph... If you've been to All Sport GP in Dulles, this is a step up)

Man, I was just out a Summit last weekend for the "Turkey Bowl" an annual vintage race. I was supposed to help a guy bring back one of two race cars he had up there this weekend. Got there only to find out that he'd crashed one of the cars on Saturday afternoon. Smacked it up pretty good. Lucky he didn't get injured. Saw some nice cars there though.
