Good deal. If it turns out to only be the fan, keep in mind that you don't HAVE to replace with a possibly overly expensive OEM fan unless you just want to keep it all OEM. You can also install an aftermarket Becool, SPAL, black magic, etc etc that will probably flow more air for the same or cheaper price. Will probably last you longer than whatever Jeep is using for it's low bid OEM supplier piece too. It really depends on what that OEM piece costs I suppose, assuming that's the problem of course..

If a stock part breaks on the trail that just gives me excuse to upgrade. . . The OEM fan is about $140 but if i can get a better aftermarket fan for around the same price then why not? LOL

Well your in for a surprise. My 1987 and 1990 have the 4.0 and both have the sealed cooling system as does yours, unless you've done the 1991 and later cooling system swap.
