Default Little Jeep (94 2 door XJ)

This is the beginning of my obsession. Obtained the 94 2 door from friend who owned from the beginning. His wife had a fight with a curb and pushed front axle back about 3 inches. Luckily control arms absorbed all the impact. I traded for this by installing a heat pump on his gas furnace and he gave me the title. Originally this was for my oldest son. He was coming of age and talking about wanting a Cherokee. No idea why, at the time I had no interest in jeeps what so ever. Got cherokee home, bought junk yard axle and helped my two sons install it. I had never done anything like that before. Bought new wheels and new shoes for christmas present and she was good to go. Son then told me he didn't want to drive stick shift! WTF! Friend called me one day see if I wanted to go with them to national forest. couple jeeps, jacked up exterras and an old toyota pickup, white and rust colored with bed rails just flapping in the breeze. After following all day, we came to a creek crossing. They all crossed I turned and rutted up the creek with her completely stock, on street tires. As I came up on the bank one of the guys says " I can't believe the little jeep made it". Therefore the name Little Jeep and my addiction officially started.

It was my time at RCPFA that led me to taking her even higher. The rocks were beating the hell out of my rockers and needed clearance. Still lived in home with no garage so doing mods was a little difficult. Plus there would get harassed by police if up on jack stands.

Moved to Maryland and the real insanity began. Through my ignorance she ended up at about 12" of lift. I was trying for 6". Traded shackles and ended up at final rear height of 9" rear 8.5" front. First time out at Gore spent whole weekend puckered. Every hole tire dropped into it felt like she was going over.

by end of 13 season she was welded rear and I felt a lot more comfortable with her. Even though as tall as she was she still remained quite stable. The welded rear changed the characteristics of her dramatically. Welded by Alan Forney when we met at Camp 10. He had his welding rig with hiim and after much coercian from him and other guys I wheel with we pulled it over to his truck and less than an hour later she was Lincoln Locked. WOW what a difference. I spent the next 4 hours trying to get used to the skinny pedal again.

This was 2013 snow storms. Just like the pictures! Still didn't have a tow rig so she ended up sitting for 2014. Then the yellow jeep was bought middle of 14. suspension stripped from the 94 and installed on the 01 in preperation for Big Dogs Spring Fling and on the way to Gore engine took a dump. So Tow rig was bought and now back to building the 94.

First on list was lower control arm skid plate for passenger side. Driver side had already been done after bending the hell out of it. Welding has improved dramatically. Just because I then beefed up the upper control arm mount. Axle ready for install. Axle had already been rebuilt during 2013 build. new ball joints, ujoints, calipers, rotors and pads.

Little Jeep back in action. lights all working, unspooled winch cable, got winch working again, spooled up the cable nice and neat, harnasses are in and feel great.

Last minute brake adjustment needed, feel a little soft. Wish I had time to pull the Aussie locker from the front axle of the 01. Should have the accomplished before Turkey Run.

Super psyched to get her back on the trails.
