Lightbulb Metal info

There have been several people asking about Metal suppliers and options.

Planning ahead can save you a lot of money.

I order all of my Tubing (DOM or Square/rectangular box) from Marmon Keystone. There are other places around that also carry tubing.
They have a good setup. But you have to order more than 3 or 4 sticks to get the good prices and they include shipping in the cost of material.
Takes between 1 to 2 weeks for delivery and you must call them. No online ordering. (Do not carry flat stock. I go to Hill top welding for that.)

For a quick price referance or if I need a small piece of something odd.
the Metal Depot has decent prices and online order. They are more expensive than Marmon keystone for Larger orders.

Also if you need it quick and want to pick it up locally in order that I use them:
Hill Top Welding
Coffie hill Welding
Stauffers
Fasten-all
Posners
Lowes / Dysons Lumber

Obviously not everyone carries everything and there are other places around.
If you know of someplace close post it up.

Dion, thanks for posting this up. I agree on the order of local sources Wenger over at Hill Top is a great guy but the no phone thing is a bit inconvenient. Stauffers and Coffee Hill are a toss up.

Like Joey says, make this one a sticky.

The only other thing to add is if you're going to place an order, post up first and see if anyone else is interested in combining a buy. A larger group buy may save everyone a few $$ if you have the patience to organize it.

Does anybody have any kind of contact info for Hill Top Welding? They are not showing up in Google Maps.

It's an omish buy that runs it. No advertising.
Drive north on 235 until you pass the Jolly Gents Sportsman club, then do a U-turn.
Small black and gray sign.

Gunny's right, no advertising, no phone. Loyd Wenger is the guy that runs the business and he is either Amish or Menonnite, I'm not educated on the difference between the two.

There's a small sign next to the driveway on south bound side of Rt 235 about where Gunny said.

As you head north, if you get to the the elementary school at "schoolhouse rd" you've pass it by about 1/2 mile. His driveway is almost directly across from one of the cut throughs in the median.

I went by there this morning. I knew the place once I got a landmark--I use a couple of shops in Fowler Industrial Park there. BTW Jolly Gents is now Knight Life alrighty.

Lloyd is a nice fella. I bought six feet of 1/8th 1.25" angle iron and ten feet of 3/16th 2" strapping for $18... crazy.

I don't know the difference, however the Menanite guy working on my Cadillac engine does not have a hat but does have a phone, while Lloyd has the hat and no phone. Both of them have power tools.
